Bei dem Wetter

hab ich meistens beim Aufstehen schon folgenden Ohrwurm:

In the early morning rain, with a dollar in my hand
With an aching in my heart and my pockets full of sand
I’m a long way from home, and I miss my loved one so
In the early morning rain with no place to go

Out on runway number nine, big 707 set to go
But I’m out here on the grass where the pavement never grows
Well the liquor tasted good and the women all were fast
There she goes my friend, o she’s rolling now at last

Hear the mighty engines roar, see the silver wing on high
She’s away and westward bound, far above the clouds she’ll fly
Where the morning rain don’t fall and the sun always shines
She’ll be flying o’er my home in about three hours time

This old airport’s got me down, it’s no earthly good to me
Cause I’m stuck here on the ground, cold and drunk as I might be
You can’t jump a jet plane like you can a freight train
So I’d best be on my way in the early morning rain

Andrew Bird – Fake Palindromes

my dewy-eyed disney bride, what has tried
swapping your blood with formaldehyde?
monsters?
whiskey-plied voices cried fratricide!
jesus don’t you know that you could’ve died
you should’ve died
with the monsters that talk, monsters that walk the earth

and she’s got red lipstick and a bright pair of shoes
and she’s got knee high socks, what to cover a bruise
she’s got an old death kit she’s been meaning to use
she’s got blood in her eyes, in her eyes for you
she’s got blood in her eyes for you

certain fads, stripes and plaids, singles ads
they run you hot and cold like a rheostat, i mean a thermostat
so you bite on a towel
hope it won’t hurt too bad

my dewy-eyed disney bride, what has tried
swapping your blood with formaldehyde?
what monsters that talk, monsters that walk the earth

and she says i like long walks and sci-fi movies
you’re six foot tall and east coast bred
some lonely night we can get together
and i’m gonna tie your wrists with leather
and drill a tiny hole into your head
